Road book – SYRIA & JORDAN – Summer 2001

And last but not least, if you notice data, facts inaccurate or if you want to add something that I missed, feel free to email me. But from now on….

This is my road book, written on a daily basis during summer 2001.

It’s just after a trip in Morocco, in Marrakech, that I had the idea of this trip. The desert part of Morocco that I have seen near Ouarzazate makes me want to see other landscapes like these. The choice was naturally towards Middle East. The only thing remaining was to find the countries to visit.

This is the starting point of a 5 weeks stay in the region beginning with Syria then going a few days in Lebanon and ending in Jordan.

After having the visa to enter Syria (through the Syrian embassy in Paris approx. USD 45 for multi entries and valid for 6 months), there was only the backpack to fill and take a plane at the airport.

Just to better understand the price references in the next pages : 50 Syrian pounds (SP) = 1 USD

Let’s Go !!!

Under the link ‘Pictures’, there are the pics of this trip with a higher resolution, this part is hosted on (Webshots).
